mySKYguard

Autonomous protection when human reaction time is not enough

Compact mySKYguard drone system overview

Overview

mySKYguard is an autonomous safety platform designed for moments when a person cannot react quickly enough, clearly enough, or safely enough to protect themselves. The concept centers on a compact drone system that can monitor for danger, identify threat patterns, track location, record evidence, and activate a response without depending entirely on human input.

The project explores how AI, mobility, real-time sensing, and secure communication can be combined into a practical protection system for both personal safety and institutional security environments.

Personal safety tools often depend on human activation

Challenge

Most personal safety tools are reactive. Apps, wearables, alarms, panic buttons, and emergency procedures usually depend on the user recognizing danger, reaching the device, making a decision, and triggering a response.

In real emergencies, that chain can break. Fear, confusion, physical threat, or a fast-moving robbery scenario can make human activation unreliable. The challenge was to imagine a system that could detect risk, respond quickly, and preserve evidence even when the user or on-site staff cannot act in time.

Solution

I developed mySKYguard as an autonomous response concept built around real-time threat detection, mobile intervention, location tracking, video capture, and automated alerting. Rather than treating protection as a manual trigger, the system is designed to operate as an intelligent first-response layer.

The platform is patent-pending and has been developed in two separate directions: a personal safety version and a bank robbery prevention version. Each version applies the same core idea differently: use AI and autonomous systems to shorten the time between danger and response.

Impact

mySKYguard has two distinct applications, each focused on a different high-stakes environment.

Personal Safety
The personal safety version is designed for individuals who may need protection when they are alone, vulnerable, or unable to call for help. It uses AI-driven threat detection, live location tracking, video capture, and real-time alerts to create a mobile layer of protection around the user.

Bank Robbery Prevention
The bank version is a separate patent-pending platform developed with my collaborator Jerry Scull. It is designed for financial institutions and uses autonomous incident response, drone-deployed deterrents, suspect marking, evidence capture, and automated notification to reduce reliance on manual activation during a robbery or active threat.

Both versions are early-stage systems, but the underlying direction is clear: protection should not depend solely on a person being able to react at the exact worst moment.

Technology Should Solve the Moment That Breaks the System.

mySKYguard is one example of how I approach complex problems: identify the failure point, rethink the system around it, and use technology only where it creates a meaningful advantage.

In this case, the failure point is human reaction time during danger. The solution is not simply a drone or an app. It is an autonomous response architecture designed for the moments when conventional tools are too slow, too passive, or too dependent on manual action.

That is the kind of work I care about: practical innovation applied to real-world problems with real consequences.
